Batadombalena

This place can be reached by travelling 2 km along Eratna road, linked to Colombo Ratnapura main road at Eratna junction and proceeding a further distance of 4.5 km along Guruluwana road. The road leading to the cave is 1 km in length, and the summit has to be reached on foot.

This cave has been a forest hermitage in the past. Archaeological excavations have the prevalence of revealed human habitation 13,500 years ago. Amongst the finds discovered are skeletons and various implements. Hence, it is now attracting large numbers of visitors. There is a large cave and a cluster of several smaller caves. This site is conspicuous for the salubrious climate.
