Vatadage of Dambadeniya Rajamaha Vihara

The Vatadage is a single-storey building on a stone podium with carved stone pillars. The korvakgal (stone balustrades) and a moonstone (Sandakadapahana) are placed at the entrance. The two-tiered roof is covered with flat clay tiles.

It is said that this monument sits on the site of an older building that used to exhibit a replica of the sacred Tooth Relic casket to devotees during the Dambadeniya era (13th century). The building is in good condition.

Location: The temple is situated about 500m on the Temple road off the Dambadeniya junction on the Kurunegala-Negombo road.
