The Polonnaruwa district's Danigala Circular Rock is a peculiarly shaped rock located close to Aralaganwila.

There are other caverns nearby and a temple on the rock as well. One of these caves contains a huge statue of the reclining Buddha that resembles the one from Pidurangala. The 38.9-foot-long Buddha statue, built of brick and stucco, has been destroyed by treasure hunters.

There are currently 70 known caves in this region. These caverns are at least two centuries old. Wild elephants frequent the region from the surrounding locations. King Saddatissa and his son are mentioned in one of the many inscriptions on this rock.

You may access the Danigala Circular Rock by travelling from Polonnaruwa to Aralaganwila along the Maradankadawala-Habarana-Thirukkondaiadimadu Highway and then the Manampitiya-Aralaganwila-Maduru Oya Road.
