The Ambalama (Sinhala: අම්බලම) is a simple structure that was designed to provide shelter for passing travellers. There were no charges for using the premises of the Ambalama as it was made, as an offering of goodwill (Pinkama).

Alikewala is a small village in the Marassana area. From Marassana you can reach Alike by traveling about a kilometer on the Pasgama road. Alikewala Ambalama is located about 1 km east of Marassana Ambalama.

The frame is made of 4 pieces of wood on 4 blocks of stone to lift from the ground and 4 more pieces of wood are placed horizontally on top of another wooden frame and the roof is built on top of it and was built in the 17th century.
