Hakgala Mountain

Nuwara Eliya is the islands coldest region in terms of temperature, and the town boasts many places of interest. However, the mountain is strictly forbidden due to its vast forest areas, so enthusiastic sightseers will need a special permit by the wildlife authorities of the country to explore this significant attraction.

The Hakgala Mountain is the eighth tallest mountain on the island and is among the foremost places where endemic plants, trees and other types of fauna can be found. The town of Hakgala is also a place containing many other breathtaking attractions, and a place worthy of mentioning is the Hakgala Botanical Garden. This attraction is home to thousands of various plants, trees, landscapes and flowers. Explorers will be in close contact with most of the islands endemic plant life in one location. The rose and lily exhibition is among the parks prized possessions.
