Jamuna Aeri (Yamunaeri) Jamunari Pond

By travelling about 800m to the East up to St. Jame'sJame's Church from the Nallur Kandaswamy Temple and about 120m on a by the road near the church, this pond could be seen 50 m to the South.

By now, most of the parts of the pond are near destruction. Although the thickly populated area surrounding the pond is on its verges, the people are oblivious of any concern to its significance. The pond has a shape of a U with an overall dimension of about 70m x 65m is founded with a central platform of 55m x30m. A flight of steps at its Southern extremity leads to the water, which is 15 feet in depth from the surface.

The structure made of coral blocks is in excellent condition. Though many theories surround its inception, it is generally known to have been constructed by the renowned Cakravarti King Pararajasekaram (1478-1519 CE).
