Kumara Pokuna

The kumara pokuna had been constructed outside the palace rampart to the South-East corner. This is a bayed oblong bath measuring 13.41 m from East to West by 11.58 m cross-ways. The sides are diminishing to 9.60 m by 5.31 m at the bottom with three gangways. On the western side there is a flight of steps to descend. The lower tier was given an ogee plinth vertical block and cyma coping. The second and the third rise with plinth. The top had been completed with a double cyma. The ground floor is paved with stone slabs. At the Eastern side there is a coping stone at the lowest tier and a stone flank had insert to drain out the used water. The outlet tunnel had been constructed with stone slabs to a distance of 9.14 m.
