This is one of the first buildings constructed when St. Thomas’s College was shifted to Mt. Lavinia in 1918. It was originally built as a library building with two laboratories. A part of the building had been used as an administrative office during the Second World War.

This is a three-storey building. The walls are about 900mm thick, and the columns are about 750mm in diameter. The whole exterior of the building has been left with the original cement plaster finish without applying any paint. The British architectural characteristics are clearly visible. The roof has been renovated. There ate no modifications other than the addition of partition walls to separate the working spaces. The building is situated on the premises of St. Thomas’s College, Mt. Lavinia. The building is in good condition.

Location: The school is located on Hotel Koad ort College Avenue, in Mount Lavinia.
