St Andrew's Scots Church

The Scottish community built Saint Andrew's Scots Kirk during the British period as a place of worship for Presbyterian devotees. Later it was opened to other Christian groups for their religious services; the practise still continues. Governor Blake had laid the cornerstone of the church in August 1906, and Manse completed the building in November 1907. No modifications have been effected since then.

The church is built in the Gothic perpendicular style to appear baronial. Towers with battlements, pointed arches, decorative mouldings, decorative wooden trusses and stained glass windows ate some of the special features of the building. The architectural elements of churches such as the nave, chancel, transepts, vaulting are present. This building is situated in a highly commercial area surrounded by high rise offices, hotels and apartments. The monument is fairly well preserved and maintained by the church authorities,
