The Dharmardaja College Kandy

Dharmardja College, Kandy, initially was set up in the Natha Dévala premises in early 1888. Although the College had since been moved out, the original buildings are still to be seen a modern Vihara, official quarters of the Basndyaka Nilame and the kitchen of the Natha-dévdla can be seen in the Natha-dévala land.

A parapet wall has been constructed later (1860-1887). Fragments of two inscriptions with reference to Jayawira wedaun-tena have been embedded onto the western side of the wall. This parapet wall around the Natha-dévala complex is believed to be construction done by the people of the Hatara Korale at the request of King Naréndrasinha. (17071739) Natha is respected as an aspirant Buddha venerated as Bodhisattva Maitreya.
