Preaching Hall of Thelwatta Purana Totagamu Rajamahavihara

AS related by the temple monks, the preaching hall had been constructed about 200 years ago. It had been repaired and repainted in 2004.

The arch-shaped doorways and the clay-tiled two-tiered roof are significant features of the building. All four sides of the preaching hall open out into a veranda. A timber handrail runs along the veranda's edge linking the columns that support the lower level lean-to-roof. It is well preserved and maintained.

Location: The temple is situated 800m away from the Thelwatta junction on the Colombo-Galle main road at the 94the km post.
