Udumahana Podi Ambalama

The Udumahana Podi ambalama (resting place) had been erected by a villager for pilgrims who visit the Aluthnuwara devale (shrine of gods of the Buddhist pantheon) and the Temple of the Tooth. This building was built about 150 years ago, and the walls have been repaired, and the tiles of the roof have been replaced. Four columns, square at the bottom and cylindrical at the top, support a pitched roof; a short half wall runs around the building.

The building is located near a road and behind it is a forest. It has been protected and maintained by the villagers.

Location: The ambalama is situated 0.5km on the road leading from the Randiwala junction located on the Mawanella-Rambukkana road.
