Brick, mortar, a half wall and no decoration at all. Nothing here is trying to impress you.
STAND INSIDE IT — 360°
THE PLACE
It is made of brick and mortar, with a half-height wall all round and a roof of semi-cylindrical Sinhala ulu. The opening faces the small road. There is no artwork anywhere on it.
It stands on the road to Akurumula, looking out over paddy.
These are the plainest buildings in Sri Lanka, and there are hundreds of them. The whole idea was that nobody should have to be grateful.
