THE PLACE
Arthur's Seat is a viewing deck on Rajapihilla Mawatha, about 545 metres above sea level. From this elevated position there is a clear view over Kandy Lake, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the former royal palace and the city centre.
It is an uncomplicated stop, and it does one thing well: showing how the lake and the sacred precinct sit within the hills around them.

The viewpoint is beside a city road with limited stopping space. Park legally, keep clear of traffic and visit in clear weather for the best visibility.
