Dividosgala

Dividosgala — also transliterated Diwidhosgala — is a forest-covered rock and mountain in Kandy District, at Gannoruwa near Peradeniya, on the western edge of Kandy city. No construction date, patron, or religious affiliation is recorded for it; it is not a temple, shrine, or monument. What is documented is a natural rock and forest reserve, known today chiefly as a hiking destination popular with schoolchildren from the district, and noted for its indigenous trees, plants, and animals.

A sub-rock within the reserve is said to be named Thuththirigala, from which the Mahaweli river can reportedly be seen, and the mountain is said to have been used by Sinhalese for military signalling during the colonial era — both details come from a single tourism account and have not been independently confirmed.
