THE PLACE
Girls' High School opened in May 1879, established through the work of Rev. Samuel Langdon and Mrs Langdon. The early school was run near the Wesleyan mission in Kandy before later developing at Katukele.
It remains one of the country's major national girls' schools, its history bound up with Methodist education in the city.
