Gondeniya Purana Tampita Viharaya

Gondeniya Purana Tampita Viharaya, off Kadugannawa, holds a raised image house set on eight granite stumps, reached by a wooden stair and now enclosed within a larger hall built up around it. The interior walls carry paintings, mostly in the Kandyan style, and the paintings and guardian figures near the entrance have been altered during later work, so they do not all belong to the original phase of the building. The raised structure itself is the clearest surviving feature from that earlier phase.

The temple is reached off the Alagalla road out of Kadugannawa, turning off at the third milepost junction. No date, founder, or associated event could be found for it — only the building, and what later hands added to it.
