THE PLACE
Gurulupotha Sita Kotuwa sits beside the Mahiyanganaya road, low remains set into forest. Local tradition ties the site to Sita and the Ramayana, but nothing here has been confirmed as connected to that story by archaeological record.
Strip that away and it is a quiet ruin in the forest.
