Hanguranketha Madanwala Ambalama

A small roadside ambalama on the road from Hanguranketha town toward Rikillagaskada, about a kilometre and a half out, on the south side of the road. Four stone pillars carry a hipped, tiled roof; stone walls about five feet high close off three sides.

It was built in 1901 by Abhayasinghe Appuhami, then secretary of Sagaruwanketa. The building has since been put to other uses, including as a preschool and a self-employment centre, so it may have added doors or netting and can be locked when not in use.
