THE PLACE
The Hanthana Mountain Range forms Kandy’s familiar south-western skyline. Its sequence of seven peaks rises to about 1,200 metres and the range was declared an Environmental Protection Area in 2010. Grass-covered ridges, woodland and wide views make it popular with walkers, while the protected status reflects the sensitivity of its slopes and habitats.
