THE PLACE
Hewawissa Ambalama once stood in the paddy-field landscape near Pasgama. Published descriptions record a roof supported by brick-and-mortar and timber pillars, with a granite slab bridge nearby on the old route.
The structure was subsequently destroyed in a vehicle collision, leaving only its foundation and rubble. Visitors should not expect to find the complete pavilion shown in older photographs.
