THE PLACE
Huluganga Ella spreads across a broad rock face below Huluganga town near Panwila. The river rises in the Knuckles highlands and continues towards the Victoria Reservoir, giving the falls a strong connection to the mountain landscape beyond the town. A steel staircase near the road bridge leads down towards the established viewing area. Waterfall conditions can change quickly with rainfall, and the rocks and steps may be slippery. The cascade also entered Sri Lankan popular culture as a location associated with the television drama Ella Langa Walauwa.

Look for the access staircase near the road bridge and the Bank of Ceylon building in Huluganga town. Keep to the viewing area and avoid wet rocks and strong water.
