THE PLACE
Hunas Falls drops 48 metres through the Hunnasgiriya hills north of Kandy, fed by mountain streams that gather into the Maha Oya reservoir system before continuing toward the Sudu Ganga.
The name gets applied loosely in the area. Nearby estate cascades are sometimes called Hunas Falls too, though they are in fact separate: Upper Hunas and Wegala Watte. Visitors should confirm which waterfall they mean to see before setting out.
