THE PLACE
Kaiwadanthenna Ambalama stands at Kaiwadanthenna junction on the Amunugama–Walala road, a large brick-and-mortar wayside rest. Its broad tiled roof rises gently toward the centre above low walls and open bays, giving it the generous cover expected of a village ambalama.
It survives in a busy roadside position rather than a secluded heritage compound, and no record of who built it or when has turned up to date.

The shelter stands close to the road, so park without obstructing the junction. View it in daylight, respect anyone using it and avoid climbing on the walls or roof structure.
