THE PLACE
The Knuckles Mountain Range is a broad highland landscape of steep ridges, deep valleys, streams and montane forest. The Knuckles Conservation Forest forms part of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka World Heritage property, recognised for its exceptional biodiversity and high level of endemic species. Conditions vary greatly across the range, so a visit may be a roadside viewpoint, a village approach or a demanding forest walk rather than one single attraction.
