THE PLACE
Konakalagala Ambalama is an old timber wayside rest in Konakalagala village. Its original core was formed from a heavy wooden frame raised on boulders, with carved posts supporting the roof and seating for travellers. The pavilion was enlarged during the twentieth century, leaving an older Kandyan structure within a broader shelter.

The site is small and close to village roads. Park without blocking residents, step carefully around the raised timber and stones, and do not carve, lean on or move any part of the structure.
