Kshethrarama Purana Tampita Viharaya Hapuwalana

Tampita Vihara (Temple on Pillars) is a unique type of image house found in some Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. These buildings have a distinctive architectural design. In the 17th-19th century, these Tampita Viharas were a popular aspect of many Buddhist temples. 

The Hapuwalana Kshethrarama Tampita Viharaya is an ancient temple situated in the Grama Niladhari division no 87, Hapuwalana, in the divisional secretariat of Divulapitiya. It was declared by the government gazette notification as and protected archaeological site on 9th March 2016. it was built on wooden platform support by 25 granite pillars.
