THE PLACE
Mawela Walagamba Len Viharaya is a Buddhist cave temple in the Mawela area. The name links the site with King Walagamba in local tradition, but that association should not be treated as a confirmed date without archaeological evidence. The visit centres on the rock shelter, shrine space and the temple's continuing religious use.
