Broken pillars, a stupa gone to weed, and a temple nobody comes far enough to see.
STAND INSIDE IT — 360°
THE PLACE
A remote temple, nine kilometres from Mihintale town, with broken granite pillars scattered across the ground — flower altars, balustrades, fragments of steps. A dilapidated stupa stands under weed.
Nothing has been reconstructed here and nobody has tidied it. What was standing fell down where it stood, and it is still lying there.
