THE PLACE
Old Teldeniya Ambalama once stood on stone pillars in the former town of Teldeniya, its timber beams finely carved, set in a picturesque spot beside the road. After 1985 the site went under the waters of the Victoria Reservoir.
Published accounts say some of the dismantled stone and timber pieces were taken off for storage. The ambalama itself is gone from the place it once stood.
