THE PLACE
Ulpange stands at the edge of Kandy Lake near the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, built partly over the water and partly on land. It formed part of the palace complex of King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe and is traditionally identified as the queens' bathing pavilion.
After the British occupation the building was adapted as a library. It is now used as a police post.
