Warapalana Sri Jinendrarama Tampita Viharaya

The Warapalana Sri Jinendrarama Tampita Viharaya is an ancient Tampita Viharaya in Gampaha district. It is belevd that this Tampita Vihara is over 200 years old and was built at the end of the 18th century. The twenty-five granite stumps are about three feet in height. The roof is clad with Sinhala Ulu. The whole structure is about nineteen feet long and fifteen feet wide. Inside the chamber consists of a seated Buddha statue. 

Two standing Buddha statues with two statues of Vishnu and Kataragama deviyo ( guardian deity of Sri Lanka) The statues must have been restored by the archaeology department. However, most of the frescoes inside the chamber are faded. 

This Tampita Viharaya is now a protected archaeological monument (Gazette dated 2 November 2002).
