A once broken and destroyed province, the Northern Province is home to many crumbling buildings, a result of an age-old war that has finally ended and, as life rebuilds itself, the beautiful aquamarine oceans and white sandy beaches surrounding Jaffna, the main city extremely famous for its Jaffna crab dish. Mannar, Velanai and Neduntheevu and, the Pigeon islands that are home to hundreds of thousands of pigeons, draw thousands of people each year to visit and revel in the freedom of this province.
