Perahera is the Sinhalese term for a parade. The perahera is a large collection of musicians, dancers, acrobats, singers, fire dancers and other performers accompanied by grandly adorned elephants that parade the streets in celebration of a religious event. Visitors will find the sight of the perahera very entertaining with its natural charm and colourful costumes.
